Dear all,
We have an open position for a PhD thesis on Dairy cattle genetic
evaluations with GxE interactions, at INRAE (The French National Research
Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment) Jouy-en-Josas (Paris
region), in the Animal Genetics Division.
The successful candidate will work in identifying informative environmental
descriptors associated to commercial traits in dairy cattle, and ultimately
develop genetic evaluation models that account for GxE (genotype-by-environment)
interactions. This PhD project will also involve the estimation of genetic
parameters across different environments, and handle the trade-off between
antagonistic traits. While the PhD position is located in France, the
successful candidate is expected to interact with international partners in
collaborations associated to the topic of this thesis.
Requirements
* Bachelor + Master completed until the end of June/2025 in one of the
following: Animal breeding, Quantitative Genetics,
(bio)Statistics/Mathematics, or related sciences
* Computational skills (R language, Pyton, Fortran, or other softwares used
for analyses in animal breeding)
* Good command of English communication/writing
